Appalachian Heritage (B,J,C,S)
 Learn about our areas past by exploring its regional history, home living, recreation, arts, industry, and agriculture. Patch requirements are specific for each age level and each participant must complete those specified requirements with at least one requirement per section included. Back to Top
Appalachian Singers (B,J,C,S)
Girl Scouts love to sing! The Appalachian Singers Book and its accompanying cassette tape are available at the Service Center Library for checkout. Earning the patch requires the participant to learn and enjoy a specified number of songs from this collection of tried and true favorites.

Archaeology (B,J,C,S)
Offers the opportunity to learn about and have hands-on experience into the past through digging at the nearest archaeological dig in our council. Explore early man's dwellings, learn about their tools of every day living, crops they raised and how you may be related to the prehistoric people of our past!

Camp Round-Up(B,J,C,S)
The requirements of this patch give you "hands-on" experience with a few of the basic needs for camping. This exercise will definitely get you "in The Mood"! You may make something, view the Council camp, slides, play games or build a fire.

Camp Sky-Wa-Mo (B,J,C,S)
A patch designed for resident campers and Girl Scouts new to Camp Sky-Wa-Mo for an exploration into nature. It explores the meaning of Sky-the sky, Wa - the water, and Mo-the mountains.

Do-Dads are Grrr-reat!!! (D,B,J,C,S)
The purpose of this patch is to provide quality time for girls and their "special dad." This patch is intended to increase adult male participating within a troop. Do-Dads may be fathers, stepfathers, adopted fathers, close friends, etc.

Drink Milk (D,B,J,C,S)
A yummy patch to earn! Why is it important for you to drink milk? What is calcium and what does it do for your bones? How many bones in your body and what foods are made from milk? Trying some of these foods is the best way to earn and learn.

Super Troop (D,B,J,C,S)
Are you a Super Troop? If not, it is time to join in on the fun this year and earn a patch too! It's easy to do, remember, you earn this patch as a troop and everyone gets one. This program offers a new star patch each year after the first patch is earned.

Tipton Haynes Historical Farm (D,B,J,C,S)
A patch designed to give all levels of Girl Scouts an understanding of, appreciation for, and pride in our historical roots dating back to the period 1783-1840. The program includes a tour of the sites original buildings, a visit to the cave, and a complete tour of the museum.

The Service Center (B,J,C,S)
 Is designed to commensurate a troop's visit to the Council headquarters in Johnson City, TN. When troops complete their tour of the Service Center, they can now point to a special patch representing all they learned during their visit. Troops are most welcome at the Service Center.

SOUTHWESTERN VIRGINIA MUSEUM(B,J,C,S)
While your are visiting the museum, you'll discuss foods, lifestyles, entertainment, dress the Victorian time as well as the construction of the museum, the materials used to build the exterior and interior of the building. Discover why it took seven years to build.

Victorian Ventures (D,B,J,C,S)
Earn this patch by celebrating the founding of Girl Scouting in the USA in 1912. Do activities Juliette Gordon Low taught the first Girl Scouts in the USA such as: Language of the Fan, school crafts, social graces. making your own Victorian Paper Dolls, having an English Tea Party, and making new friends.
